Grazina Pukaite is an Irish/Lithuanian vocalist based in London. Surrounded by music from an early age Grazina fell in love with jazz when she was introduced to the inimitable jazz vocalists Carmen McRae.
…“What hit me whilst listening to her records early on was the depth of emotion in the way Carmen personalizes a song. The hard-swinging and conversational and story-telling approach, which makes you feel so included in the journey of the performance …”
Grazina is inspired by Jazz Greats such as Miles Davis, Wayne Shorter, Jon Hendricks, Joe Henderson, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Mark Murphy, Carmen McRae, Betty Carter, Dexter Gordon… Her performance highlights include a national tour through Ireland with the legendary Irish jazz guitarist Louis Stewart (B. Goodman/G. Shearing), double bassist Dave Fleming, Dr.Steve Davis on drums. They performed at a sold-out concert at the National Concert Hall in Dublin.
